Principal

Principal's Message

Dear Students and Family,

Let me start by introducing myself, my name is Naaman Schlegel, former Principal of Cleveland Elementary and new Principal of Brigadier General Anna Mae Hays Elementary School. New boundary lines have been drawn for schools in ASD, and you are receiving this letter because you will attend the new school (located on 12th and Gordon Street) this fall!

As principal, I would like to personally welcome you and your family to this new school during this exciting time! This is a thrilling time in Allentown for our students and families.

We are just a few months away from opening the doors of Brigadier General Anna Mae Hays Elementary School, to students like you, who will call this beautiful school home. Currently, construction workers and ASD employees are working diligently to ensure the building is ready for the first day of school. The school offers many incredible spaces to help students be successful!

• An attached community building that includes a food pantry, space for a health provider, early education classrooms, and an adult education classroom
• Enormous gymnasium, featuring a regulation size basketball court and stage
• Large, beautiful library that encourages a love for reading and overlooks downtown Allentown
• Large playground space featuring two playground structures

Please be on the lookout for more communication coming in the next few weeks with updates about our new school and the start of the school year. In addition, please note that until the building is operational any questions or information concerning Brigadier General Anna May Hays Elementary can be found at either Cleveland (phone: 484-765-4821) or McKinley Elementary Schools (phone: 484-765-5461).

Enjoy your summer and I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Brigadier General Anna Mae Hays Elementary!

Mr. Naaman Schlegel
